Just the Two Of Us

The honeymoon signals the beginning of your journey into marriage – a tranquil time after the chaos of wedding planning. Here are perfect spots for cosying up.

My friend recently just get married, she ask me how is my honeymoon. My honeymoon? Oops, too rush for the planning and quite a bad experience. For my friend sake, i decided to do some research and help her to plan some romantic but costly honeymoon.

Lets talk about the history of honeymoon, there seems to be two commonly identified origins of the word. The first has its heredity in the northern lands of Europe and in Babylon some 4,000 years ago. It was customary for newly married couples to drink milheglin, a kind of mead or wine made from honey. This was done for a period of about one lunar/moon month, or 30 days. This custom produced the term “honey month” or “honeymoon.”

There were also speculations that the term came from the Norse word “hjunottsmanathr”. This was akin to a ritualised rape, which was described in Nordic history as the kidnapping of a nubile woman from a neighbouring village. The abductor, aided by his band of henchmen, must keep his bride-to-be in hiding until her family gave up their search for her. By which time, the girl would usually be pregnant with child and he could approach her family to negotiate a “price” for her.

“Hjunottsmanathr” meant hiding, but many a modern folk has argued that the old barbaric custom cannot have anything to do with “honeymoon”.

I have came across some website, and conclude the follow romantic place i wish to go. How you think?
